With authentic instruments, costumes and an appropriate selection of songs, the show takes us from his youth, through the Beatles hey-day, their demise and on to Lennon's last years. The music is strung together with a fairly minimal dramatic monologue, which is delivered by looking back on the twists and turns of his eventful life.
Lennon recounts his first impressions of McCartney, a much better musician who had enough female followers to warrant "Being in me band".
He gives us glimpses of his motherless childhood, explains his infamous comment that the Beatles are "More famous than Jesus now". He shares his hurt at the white hatred of Yoko Ono. His battles to avoid deportation from The US, and clarifies his relationships with Brian Epstein and David Bowie. It's a chance to relive the highs of The Beatles unparalleled fame, the controversy of their break-up, the intrigue of John Lennon's solo career and the shocking tragedy of his untimely death.
The cast and musicians of this show is made up of Beatle Tragics. William Croft and Beatle Magic portray and depict Lennon like no one before them.
