Cairns Choral Society 2010 Gala Concert
With a host of local talent on-stage for this year's Cairns Choral Society Gala, including the Choral Society, Cairns Brass, Cairns Young Voices, the Julia Macalpine Dancers, and selected soloists and groups, this year's gala will showcase the best of the north.
The Cairns Choral Society began in 1923, and is one of Queensland's oldest choral groups. Their aim is to promote and encourage the development of musical talent in the far north, and they are considered one of the north's leading choirs.
It is from this background of high standards and musicianship that the Cairns Civic Theatre and the Cairns Choral Society are pleased to present the 2010 Gala Spectacular. With a wide range of musical genres, from sacred songs to show-tunes, dances to band music, you'll be tapping your toes as you watch our local performers share their talent. Some music you'll know, some may be a little less familiar, but all will be wonderfully entertaining.
